Shout Out To My Ex Stays At Number 1 For A Second Week

Last week Little Mix’s newest single Shout Out To My Ex debuted at number 1 in the official UK charts. Despite it not having a full week of sales, as it was released on Sunday rather than a Friday, it sold 95,000 copies, rocketing to the top of the chart.

Shout Out To My Ex Stays At Number One For A Second Week 1

However, this week Little Mix remain top of the UK charts. They fought off competition from a new release from Clean Bandit and older songs threatening to climb the chart and take their top spot. The song has stayed at number 1 on iTunes and Spotify all week, maintaining its official number 1 spot and selling 111,000 copies.

Not only have they remained top of the chart, Shout Out To My Ex has also been certified silver! This means that the song has sold an incredible 200,000 copies in just two weeks of release.

Last Friday, the Little Mix girls also released the music video for Shout Out To My Ex. In only a week, the video has gained 25 million views, once again proving the popularity of the song.

Shout Out To My Ex is threatening to take Black Magic’s crown as Little Mix’s most successful song. Black Magic was number 1 on the UK charts for 3 weeks, which Shout Out To My Ex is now close to matching. Shout Out To My Ex has been certified silver, just 2 weeks after release, whereas Black Magic took 3 weeks to reach this milestone. The new hit has already succeeded Black Magic’s American success as well. This week it reached number 30 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales whilst Black Magic only peaked at number 48.

So, what do you think of the song? Are you glad that it is successful and still number 1? Is there another song that you would prefer to take the number 1 spot? Let us know by tweeting us @CelebMix.
