Geeta Bali (1955-1965) – He and the popular actress Geeta Bali became husband and wife on August 23, 1955. The couple welcomed a son named Aditya Raj Kapoor (b. July 1, 1956) and a daughter named Kanchan Kapoor together. However, after nearly a decade of marital bliss, Geeta died from smallpox at the young age of 34 years.

Shammi Kapoor Facts

In his early 20s, he was infatuated with the actress Madhubala and had even expressed his desire to marry her someday. His family, however, was opposed to their union as they belonged to different religions. Nevertheless, the two worked together in Rail Ka Dibba (1953), Boy Friend (1961), and Naqab (1955).

The actor Bobby Deol (son of Dharmendra) was born on the day that Shammi Kapoor married his second wife, Neila Devi Gohil.

He is honored with a brass statue at the Walk of the Stars in Bandstand located in Bandra, Mumbai.

Shammi Kapoor’s last film appearance was playing Ustad Jameel Khan alongside his grandnephew Ranbir Kapoor in Imtiaz Ali‘s Rockstar (2011).
