Kaskade Drops New EP REDUX OO6

Seven-time Grammy-nominated artist Kaskade releases his new EP, REDUX 006, a seven-track collection of deep house tracks.

A household name in electronic music for nearly two decades, Kaskade needs no introduction. His list of achievements is a mile long: 12 studio albums, multiple Grammy nominations, the first solo electronic dance artist to sell out both Navy Pier in Chicago and the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the first DJ to ever secure a Las Vegas residency, and the first electronic artist to headline Coachella.

Kaskade has collaborated with Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, and Meghan Trainor, as well as conceptualizing and creating an entire season of music for video game giant Rocket League. He’s the first-ever solo headlining musician to sell out and perform for a public event at LA’s SoFi Stadium. Most recently, in 2022, he teamed up with deadmau5 to form Kx5.

With more than five million monthly listeners on Spotify and hundreds of millions of streams, along with performing on the mainstage of the world’s elite festivals, Kaskade is an undeniable dance music tour de force.

REDUX 006 begins with “Brighter,” featuring Emmit Fenn, opening on emerging, glimmering tones topped by filtered vocals, giving the lyrics a dream-like quality. A shimmering bridge leads into a heavy, mid-tempo rhythm with a surging topline. The harmonics then descend to gentle, fluid surfaces dripping with tender wistfulness.

Entry points include “Save Me,” highlighted by the wickedly alluring voice of Lauren L’aimant traveling over a gliding, rippling melody riding a syncopated rhythm. Whereas “About Us” merges a deep house groove with garage-laced textures and hints of industrial percolations.

A personal favorite because of its low-slung, contagious vibe, “It’s Gone,” featuring Crayskool,” delivers glittering textures atop a tight, pushing rhythmic pulsation, imbuing the tune with dream-like surfaces.

Arguably the best track on the EP, “On My Way” rolls out on drifting tones as posh vocals infuse the lyrics with alluring timbres. The rhythm, propelled by a thumping kick-drum and fat, driving bassline, gives the song a dizzying groove that ebbs and rises with hypnotic energy.

Merging impressive dance music patterns with innovative sonic shifts, with REDUX 006, Kaskade struts his enormous gifts, resulting in multi-layered richness.
